Resolution #15-27: Resolution of the Vernon Township Municipal Utilities Authority Amending the Rules and Regulations Relating to Grease Interceptors

WHEREAS, the members of the Vernon Township Municipal Utilities Authority from time to time review its Rules and Regulations; and
WHEREAS, Vernon Township Municipal Utilities Authority desires to make the following amendment to its Rules and Regulations.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the commissioners of the Vernon Township Municipal Utilities Authority as follows:
1. Section 3.7(R) is hereby amended by adding a new subsection (4) as follows:
The VTMUA has compiled a grease management handbook, which may be updated from time to time, to assist the public in understanding best grease management practices and to aid in the enforcement of the rules and regulations relating to grease interceptors.
2. Section 3.7(S)(4)(ii) is replaced in its entirety as follows:
Grease interceptors shall be completely evacuated at least every thirty (30) days and more frequently when (a) twenty-five percent (25%) or more of the wetted height of the grease trap or grease interceptor, as measured from the bottom of the device to the invert of the outlet pipe, contains floating materials, sediment, oils or greases; or (b) the discharge exceeds BOD, COD,TSS, FOG, pH or other pollutant levels established by the municipal sanitary sewer system; or (c) if there is a history of noncompliance.
