Resolution #17-47: Resolution of the Vernon Township Municipal Utilities Authority Rejecting Proposals for the Operation and Maintenance of Vernon Township’s Sanitary Sewer System

Date of Adoption: December 21, 2017

WHEREAS, the Vernon Township Municipal Utilities Authority (“VTMUA”) solicited for proposals for the operation and maintenance of Vernon Township’s sanitary sewer system; and

WHEREAS, the proposal was drawn up and advertised; and

WHEREAS, the total of four (4) bidders qualified to submit a response for the request for proposals; and

WHEREAS, only one (1) qualified bidder submitted a response; and

WHEREAS, said response was received and opened on December 4, 2017 at 4:00 pm; and

WHEREAS, De Block Environmental was the only qualified bidder to submit a quote for services as outlined in a request for proposals; and

WHEREAS, said quote exceeded the appropriated budget of the VTMUA by over $80,000.00; and

WHEREAS, the opinion of the commissioners it is in the best interest of the VTMUA to reject said bid as the cost for awarding the bid would be prohibited to the rate payers of the VTMUA.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the commissioners of the Vernon Township Municipal Utilities Authority that the bid submitted by De Block Environmental is hereby rejected.
